I finished my deer hunt Monday, standing next to my truck taking gear off by the road,a truck approaching I could tell it was a CO driving. Saw the sign on truck and anticipated them stopping and checking my stuff. He never slowed and just kept going. Thought he might U turn and come back. Nope. That's a first.
I’m usually sweating like a bear on a treadmill when I see them. I think they can smell fear.

I wasn’t always the upstanding gentleman I am today… same with cops, I see blues and my foot goes to the throttle out of habit.

I’m still looking for some kind of benefit I receive from the department of fish and wildlife. I’m open to suggestions, but I’m pretty sure their existence doesn’t really have an impact. Please correct me if I’m wrong?
Obviously, you've never been invited to their legislative wild game dinner. It's all the rage for the high rolling, political, outdoors enthusiast, looking for a free meal. Take your pick of many different wild game dishes, prepared to appease the political palate.

My general rule is to believe nothing random people tell me about stuff they’re not in a position to know.

Are you saying that we should just abolish them then? I think the word "benefit" is too abstract, you may not think you benefit directly from their existence, but indirectly you probably do. I like being able to go to a WMA and hunt, I like the option of applying for quota hunts in our state, and I really like to have the opportunity to draw and elk tag in my own state, which I did back in 2015. I think if you look past the typical experience with the KDFWR, which is the CO's, you will see that the law enforcement part of it is actually just a small part of what they do.

Just my opinion

If he wasn’t so consistent, you’d think it was humor.

Do you care about mollusk, bats, or pollinators? How about boat ramps, darters and game fish? Think we should have educational programs for kids? How about summer camp to introduce them to things we all value?

To say KDFWR doesn’t benefit you and call yourself an outdoorsman is ridiculous. Do they have faults, of course…could things be improved, of course…but claiming no benefit is pretty dang hard to wrap your head around.

I can believe it. I don’t think the salary is much plus a lot had to get degrees(loans) to pursue it but now I don’t think it’s a requirement. I got the impression it wasn’t what it’s cracked up to be.

Sooo…..summer camp and some biological studies? Good to know. Yeah I’m thinking private institutions would do just fine. Was the turkey repopulation performed by the department? How about the elk restoration? Is ducks unlimited not a thing?
