Ok guys just so there is no misunderstanding on why a thread is locked or post edited these are a simple set of rules this forum will operate under.

You may not use this forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law.

We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so (within a reasonable time frame) if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email.

We also reserve the right to delete posts that we consider a personal attack on an individual.

These rules are subject to change at any time.

Thank you for your cooperation.

The rules are for everyone. Break the rules and the same action will follow as you have seen. These argumentative/ personal attack threads and post have to stop. If a thread starts to take the direction of the ones locked it will be locked also. My suggestion is if you want to continue the arguments take it to either e-mail or private messages.

Duster i need to know. Are these rules for all the forums on this website or just crossbow? I understood that the xbow forum was started in order to move the xbow debate away from the other forums. Now there can be no debate here either? I understand about the name calling and cussing, but discussions sometimes do get a little heated. That's the nature of the beast. I just need to know the boundaries and if you mean all the forums.

These rules apply on every Forum.

As for the "nature" of the beast, I get riled at my manager at work daily, the wife about once a week, the kid every 45 minutes, but I don't called them names, I don't curse them out, I don't belittle them and I do not threaten them.
So no, it is not the nature of the beast.
The final appeal date is April 30 (I do believe) at that time all is over either oneway or another. There are a few more Moderators here now and we have all agreed that this WILL stop. The crossbow forum should be just that, disscussion of hunting/shoting crossbows. Yes, it has been a touchy subject, but the fighting will STOP. Offenders will have Post's deleted and habitial offender will be banned.

Good job Duster!

New Rules For this Forum...Read

Due to the arguments that continue there are some new rules that will be placed in effect. They are as follows.

Rule #1.... No anti crossbow statements acceptable in futher post.

Rule # 2....
Any anti-crossbow post will be deleted ASAP, the poster will be given 2 warnings, after that thier user name will be banned for a period of 30 days. If they return after that time and continue to make anti-crossbow post the ban will become permanent.

Reason..... The continued arguments are only causeing a greater division between hunters. This forum will become a place where crossbow users can come give tips and post questions and hopefully recieve answers to questions from those who use this weapon.

We ask that no pro-crossbow post be made in the archery equipment forum as the same rules will apply there.

These New Rules will go into effect in 5 days from today...10/10/2005
