One of my best friends, i have hunted with all my life, said he had 4 different bucks, come by less, than 20 yards, this afternoon, all had lost their racks, i told him, im not , surprised, most only had a rack, on one side and part of one, on the other side, during season.

Loudest walk in ever. Every step had a bag of potato chips between my foot an the ground. No wind, dead silent. I was tip toeing in then when I realized there was no use then I rushed in to get it over with.
Side note: the sitka incinerator set is just awesome in regards to warmth and design. (Mine are the original down design not the aerolite.)And you can get them barely used on ebay for 40-50% of retail if you are patient. I pack in the jacket and a hoody and just unzip all the bib vents with just my base layer as a shirt. Pocket layout is perfect.

Saw 3 bucks one doe at first light. Two bucks were shooters with both antlers. One of them was a buck I thought dead, haven’t seen him since early bow season.

There is an absolute hammer of a 10 pt i see all the time a quarter mile down the road. He likes the bottoms and has not ventured up on my ridges. Really hoping he gets bored and comes up my way. My WW is finally taking and getting browsed.

Coulda really made some meat this morning with the compound or crossgun. Drew on one big doe at about 9 yards but my feathers from the arrows in my quiver rubbed the rail on my climber. Unbelievable how loud that is on a morning this still lol

I’m heading back out. Finishing a sammich. I’m going to ground hunt behind my stand. They won’t play ball in range, nothing to lose.

That was what I did yesterday. I had to get the wind in my favor so made a little blind with cedars and well it all worked out great. Finished blind at 4:15 killed at 5:04 so best of luck.
