Squirrels squirrels and more squirrels. It’s hard to relax or concentrate with the amount of noise they are making. At this point I know I am tipping these deer off on my entry on the days we are hunting. Too much day light camera movement on the days I’m at work compared to the days we hunt they aren’t any where around. With no pressure on the surrounding farms it’s tough to get an idea of how to adjust.

I'm headed to Alabama this afternoon for a week rut hunt, got several bucks on camera. This is my 5th year going down there and its always a great time, its not as good as our rut but it sure is fun to be back in the tree putting some deer on the ground

You try parking a different area or driving a different vehicle? I drove by my dads farm in my truck one time and he said when I went by everything even on the back of the farm got quiet….

They pattern us just like we pattern them.

Crazy enough last Thursday when I had my chance at a shooter I had switched up the morning routine. My shoulder has been bothering me so I brought a Honda ruckus moped so that I could drive the corn to drop it off instead of carry it to both locations. Parked the trailer at where I planned on evening hunting so I didn’t have to move the truck all day and could just ride the moped around. So I drove the moped before sunrise down the road to my morning spot. Cut across a field on it. parked it in some brush about 250 yards from my stand. Had my best hunt that morning and my truck wasn’t in its normal spot for that area. It was 2 miles down the road at another spot.

So your idea actually worked for me last week. Just haven’t tried it again. That stand is 600 yards from where I park on the side of the road and my truck is not in the general direction of where the deer come from but it was a strange coincidence

Thank goodness for squirrels at my place. Otherwise it would be like sitting in a parking lot after Chernobyl was vacated.

Let us know how it goes. Been thinking about a late Jan Alabama hunt for a couple years. May pull the trigger next year.

Looks solid!
I wouldn’t be too picky down there. 80 inch buck would prolly be in trouble.
Looks like there’s some much better than that as well.
oh absolutely they are some good ones. my buddy had one on camera that got killed on the next farm that went 160
