Sweet with mild loads I have. Wife was surprised there wasn't more recoil. Hotter load would be a hand full. Scoony threw in some reloading dies. Gonna have to play with some loads when I get some brass.

Yikes. I am shooting 250 grain jacketed bullets at 1300 fps and those are a handful. 250-270 grain cast lead at 900 fps is plenty to go through a critter.

Always loved the looks of the Ruger’s. In my experiences though, I’ve always felt the Ruger’s recoil was excessively felt versus a S&W or Taurus.

depends on the load. Normal 45 colt loads are very gentle. The load listed above is an extremely stout load with maybe a bit more recoil then a 44 mag.

But then again, completely different grip style.
