I went to the Contemporary Long Rifle Association show this last weekend at Rupp in Lexington. It's geared toward modern Flintlock Kentucky Long Rifles and all the accouterments that go along with them. Basically a ton of hand made items related to the 17th and 18th century in one spot. There are also quite a few original pieces on display as well. I didn't take a lot of pics but here is one with wall full of nice original horns. These are all from the revolution,..carried during the time when Washington was fighting the red coats and Paul Revere was making silver items...mid 1770's to early 1780's.

Very cool. I would have loved to attend the show in Lexington. Before I die, I desperately want to build my own flint lock. Maybe someday I’ll find the time.

Here is a link to the best forum in the business for that type of info,..makers that is. There is also a couple of folks that put out really high quality kits. Jim Cambers and Jim Kibler. I have a flintlock but did not build it....it was made by a guy named Steve Losey. My next one would probably be a Kibler kit...very high quality components....and you get to get your feet wet with building. Here is some Links

Thanks. I appreciate the info. I was hoping to build my own stock out of some walnut I’ve milled...but the kits sound appealing.

I would like to build the stock from scratch. I’m not much of a metal worker so I would like to buy those components

Has anyone on here built one from a chambers kit? I’ve been eyeing one for the last couple years just haven’t done it yet.
