You can use monel staples they don't rust
I just now did this. The job itself wasn't bad but the anxiety doing it was a nightmare. The local lake has 1 ramp. I put my boat in, pulled it to the bank and got all my tools and new bunks laid out quickly. I backed my truck out to the road as far as I could without the trailer being in the road. I got both bunks off quickly and then I heard it...brakes.
A guy was wanting to put it his boat. Technically he could have driven another 60 yards and backed down the ramp from the other side. Now I am going into a full blown panic attack thinking I am sorry SOB for blocking access. But keep in mind he could drive in from the other side.
I speak to him and he is very cool about it. Then he gets out and helps me. Helluva a guy. So I am going as fast as I can laying in the gravel with sweat pouring into my eyes while he sits on the new bunks to hold them down and hands me tools.
It didn't take long thanks to that good Samaritan.
Shane, if you are a member on here, thanks so much! I owe you a few beers.
Awesome! That was kind of Shane to lend a hand!
There are still some good people out there
Yes there are.
Glad to hear.
Way more good out there than the internet makes you believe.
Do it at the ramp, measure your 2x4 and have it cut ready to go pull out staples off carpet and restaple it back on. Super quick and easy.
I Probably should’ve read the thread before commenting
Ya think? Lol
