Anybody shooting one 760 or 7600, i know wildcat fan ( Greg ) said he had 2 or 3 , I have always shot a rem 700 mostly in 3006, a little in 7 mag, and have always liked them. But about 3 years ago, when i started being confined to a blind, i thought i would try one , I know the Benoits up in Maine and a lot of those guys, use them that track, they swear by them , i had considered, trying one, but i wanted the carbine, finally found one in 760 , carbine, liked it so well , ran into a 7600 in synthetic carbine, bought it. It is what i have used the last 3 years. I cant find any fault in them, other than the trigger is horrible, which can be made to be very good which i did. Im not saying better than a bolt, but for me, im loving them with the 18 inch barrel, in the blind , i can only shoot 200 yards, they are definately faster than a bolt, if you need a second shot, i havent had any problems, as far as jamming goes, the guys up north say thats the main 2 reasons they use them, fast 2nd shots, and no jams, i know about 4 or 5 guys around here, that shoot them, thats about it, just not popular here. Again im not saying better than a bolt which i love, but i have enjoyed these little short barrel guns. I would think that someone that was used to shooting a 870 or a pump shotgun would really like them. I hunt with 150 rem cor lokts always have, i had a friend that had some winchesters, so i shot 3 of them, at 100 yards target in pic , i thought it did pretty good. Was just wondering if anyone on here used them.

I have seen pics of the pumps but don't think I have ever seen one in person. There aren't too common in my neck of the woods.
Do they still make them? I know the autos have been discontinued

I have a 742 carbine in 3006 .Shoots great no probs. Had it 35 years. Killed a bunch of deer with it. Been sitting in safe awhile now. Usually try to kill my buck with a bow before heading out of state.

Used em years ago,I had a 760 and later a 7600 in 3006,in the BDL .Beautiful wood on both, both shot good ,I liked the pump so much better than the 742 and 7400, auto’s ,had a 742 in 308 .I wanted something different ,so I got a BDL 700 in 270 in 1987 and used it then on.I like pretty wood I guess ,but they were all good, more accurate than me

Never owned one but I like them. I think David Petzel with Outdoor Life magazine called the Remington pump the most underrated rifle ever made. I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. Good shooting btw Grago.

lots of guys up here in pa use them. not a bad gun but you better run it like ya stole it. if you don't rip the pump off on the reload cycle to seat it you'll likely here click on shot 2.
