I purchased a late 80’s KSP Remington 870 police magnum today. Excellent condition for the age. Very happy with it but it is one that has the rifle sights on it which I don’t care too much for. Anyone know of any good, easy to change options for 870 sights that would allow for faster target acquisition?
These rifle sights would be great for longer ranges but wanted it for more of a HD gun.

Just swap the sights for a bead. If intended for clearing a hallway ? I doubt you need much in the way of a bead etc?

I’d just learn to love them. For your intended purpose I don’t think it will matter.

Swap that barrel for one of your choosing.

More of a point and shoot anytime your in a room/house type situation. You ain’t gonna miss. The rifle sights are more meant for yard/field situations with slugs. I’d keep it the way it is if it’s truly going to be used for the home.

Thanks everyone. I guess that’s true, at a few yards anything should work. I think there are also night sight options for 870 rifle sights but they are Trijicon so pretty pricey.

I was sorta surprised by the high prices on Police Shotguns available at Shooters Supply several years ago? I sorta figured they were well used and the price should reflect that but they were pretty pricey from my POV.

IIRC the 870s were in the high $200 or even $300 range when an 870 Express was just about that price NIB.

Like the man said get an extra barrel for it. Back in the day had a 870 wingmaster had like 4 different barrels types for it.
