I picked me up an 700 cdl model cbamberex in 300 rum. Anyone got one of these and what do you think of them.

I have a Sendero in .300 RUM. Can't give any insight on the CDL, but on deer sized game, the RUM is a barrel of fun to shoot deer with. I shoot 150 grain Sciroccos out of my gun. It's like a 22-250 on steroids. Ever shoot a groundhog with a 22-250? Expect the same results on deer with the RUM if you use the 150 grain Sciroccos.

Do yourself a favor. Do not skimp on a scope. You will never know the true potential of your gun if you limit yourself by putting a cheap scope on it.

I had a 300um back about ten years ago and had to sellit, I always said I woukd have another one and I came across one for a ppretty good deal. I shot the scirrocos it it also and was amazed at the damage it done on deer, and I almost cut a coyote completely in half with it. I had a luepold on it and plan on going with the same unless I decide to go with a zeiss.

While I generally hunt with a Tikka in .308 I have a 7 RUM stainless 700 SPS, don't use it a lot, but when I need to cover a corn field or powerline clear cut its the go to gun. So far I'm 5 for 5 with the longest shot at a laser verified 565 yards.

Ultra Mags are a beast, enjoy yours!
