Seems like I remember someone posting some details about a group trip on here recently. Somewhere in the near future, I wouldn’t mind taking my old man on a redfish trip. I keep getting Ads for one being a Cabelas Club Member and it looks awesome, but I don’t know what good prices are. If any of you all got good info to share from personal experiences, please do. I can find plenty of stuff online but rather have some personal recommendations.
    Thanks!

I'm thinking about a trip too. I've always heard Venice Louisiana is the redfish/speckle trout mecca.

Thanks. I’ve fished SW Florida some and been to Destin. Would probably be more interested in Louisiana/Bayou country if it happens.

So given these prices, would 4 days 3 night plus fishing at $2100 a person be a good deal. Includes fishing, stay, meals, etc... Yes that’s a lot of money, especially for me, but when I see the partial and full day charter prices, doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Ours was originally supposed to be $500 per person for a 6 man group out to the middle grounds. That’s a full day trip. It got cut short due to weather so it ended up being $350 per person.

We went redfishing out of Venice earlier this year. We had gone down to fish for tuna and had a day off between tuna trips. There were three or four guides wandering around the dock the day we were there looking for folks interested in going out.

We caught a bunch of redfish, but none as big as the ones in the photos posted above. We had a great time....wound up releasing a bunch of redfish to keep from going over our limit.

I honestly can't remember how much we paid the guide, but I believe it was about $300/person (4 of us). I don't remember the guides name.

That seems high to me. I think hunter charges 400 for a half day trip. Hell I went to sandals st lucia all inclusive 5 day trip for 1700

    Did $1700 include fishing?

Not fishing but it included all the other activities you’d want to do like diving and stuff. I know it’s not the best comparison but hell 2100 for 3 nights seems really steep.

That’s why I’m On here asking. From what I understand this is like fancy stay and dining. I’m sure you’d still be expected to do gratuity. I know what you’re saying about all inclusive, have been on 3 of those trips myself, but guided fishing, AM/PM for 3 days seems like it would get costly. My guy in SFL is known to be pretty cheap compared to others and he charges $285 for 4 -5 hours.

Regardless what you pay I don’t think you’ll regret it. Trips like that usually make priceless memories

I kayak fish in Venice when I go down for tuna. You can put in on sharp turn corner of Jump basin and main road. We catch a mess of nice ones there
You can rent kayaks in Venice la or hire a kayak guide for less than 300 for 2 people and kayaks look at sues rentals you can get trailer to stay in for 119 last time I was there sleeps 6/7
