What sights are you using for your go to turkey getter
I’m using a red dot. Never have tried a reflex though
open sights Tru- Glo
Burris FF3 reflex.
Red dot... love it
Red dot for 10 yrs. wld never go back to open sights.
Red dot on 870. Open sights on 11-87 Truglow.
I'm a Vortex Sparc II guy
You guys using these sights do turn them on once you know he’s coming or what that’s my only draw back to using one using a scope right now
I can only speak for the Vortex Sparc II. The battery last for 300 hours on the brightest setting and 5000 on the lowest. If I forget to turn it off, it shuts down after 12 hours automatically. I change the battery at the beginning of every season and its never been a problem
This will be my first yr running a scope, so far in just sighting in and patterning my gun I'm excited about it!
I couldn't see my sites worth a darn before, now I know for sure the sight pic is on.
It's a 1x4 and I seem to like 2-2 1/2 power what are the red dots fixed power?
I'm going to look into a red dot or reflex after season to see if I want to change.
I like the long eye relief they give you.
Just put a reflex sight on the mossberg 835. I loved that I could pattern it better . Only draw back is the sight sits higher. So my check is higher on the stock than normal. I was also wondering about battery . I left my tru glows on the gun. My reflex sight is a sight mark.
the battery is a slight draw back but to me the the pros outweigh the cons. myself I just turn my red dot on when I get my gun out of the truck, and turn it off when it goes back in the truck. That way my sight is ready the whole time im in the woods and one less thing to mess with or worry about in a quick situation
I always turn mine on when im working a bird. My red has adjustable dots. U can make them very small
I always turn mine on if im working a bird or setup over a field. If im walking and trying to strike a bird its off. Never been a problem. I like the adjustable dot. I keep mine pretty fine so when its on the turkeys head their is no blurring out the head like my sights did.I also carry a spare battery in a call case in my vest just un case.
Thats something I love about the dot is how much better I feel that I can aim when using just the bead on the barrel. Like you said blurring the head. The sight picture is greater with the barrel not blocking your view any.
