Out in Washington county with the Mathews this morning. Slept in the truck last night and it sure rained hard. Little windy but should be a good sit

Im hoping the deer want to get out and stretch their legs after 50mph winds and storms last night. Im 23feet up and hoping the wind stays manageable

Watching 11 hens in the plot. One has a 5-6 inch beard, a second hen has 5 lbs on the rest she is a beast. pretty cool morning this far. Part of me wishes i had the bow rather than the smokepole but id also like to give the Turkey a chance to recover for a couple years. 93DE7334-A641-44E0-AA8D-822881702D09.jpeg

Got it out to swab it and load and there wasn't a primer on it but when cleaning rod went down it stuck up to far, lol. It's a wolf CVA so took plug out and knocked all out the back wire brush on a drill and pb blaster cleaned up good shot it dead on at 75 .....
Soon as wind dies down I'm going, I hunt on one of the highest ridges in my county it's hard to hunt when you're holding on stand with both hands :D

I feel ya on that Trapper. Our ridge isn’t no mountain but our property is all ridges and valleys. In a blind and yep it’s whipping pretty good. And yep, good call on knocking it out. With these new ones we always have that option as well. Good luck!

Been pretty darn windy here. I helped skin out two deer and get them in the cooler today. I’m just resting. If I see anything it’s likely to get a pass.
