Found a bottom with a lot of ramps popping up. Gonna come back in a few days and dig some. Spring is happening. Morels will be up soon also. They pop later in this area. Normally 2nd week April.

I can't wait to get a mess of them, never really found them that young and likely wouldn't recognize them, but who knows.

    You sure those are ramps?
The leaf should be broad and round and I don’t see the red at the base? Here in North Ky leaf is broad but bulbs still small.

They are not broad leaved yet. Thought that was because of immaturity. The ones I pulled broke at base or a little below it. They was started to get red. I am heading down there in a bit to see if they have grown any and dig a few up. I’ll take pics. They had an onion/garlic taste to them.
If they aren’t ramps, are there any other plant that has that taste? I don’t know of any?

Ohh I don’t, believe me. I look 2-3 times a week from now till they are dried up. Just don’t seem to find them on a regular basis here till most of you guys are saying they are dried up. Don’t know why but that’s they way it has ran past 4-5 years around here.

May be. We have a lot of wild garlic which is a diff shade of green and have round stems. Everyone calls them wild onions. I can’t get there today. Wife is nursing a migraine right now. If she gets up feeling well we will run down and I’ll get some pics. If not it’ll be tomorrow when she gets off work weather permitting.

I hope it’s a bumper crop. We usually eat the first 3-4 messes then I sell the rest. They sell like hot cakes! Lol
