Rainbows

That's not good at all. Only difference with my reel is it doesn't have that writing in it and if it did it's done wore off now
That reel is 15 years old probably and retired now, bought it off a fella who used to post here a lot who ran a bow/hunting shop here in Murray. He order them for several members here around same time at a killer deal.

I always resisted Daiwa and Shimano reels because they were Jap made and went with Swedish made Abu Garcia and US made pfluegar exclusively and have pretty much maintained that attitude even though since the 90s both Abu Garcia and Pflueger have been China made. I’m gonna take your word on that ultralight Daiwa and give it go as it would have to be a dandy to beat that Pflueger.
I get what is left over my son will get outside and grab the poles out of the boat and play around and practice and make a mess of the line and not tell me lol then I get to the lake and spend a hour or less trying to put new line on or fix whatever else is wrong! I don’t blame you I’m like you I usually stick with what works and don’t stray away I payed like 30 for this one though my son would give it a try but wouldn’t use it lol so I started to use it been good one for me so far lol second season!!

I looked at them think you for your info!! I think I’m going to stick with what works and not stray away!!
For the $21 I gave for it, I have to say it's well worth the money and I'm gonna venture to say if I hadn't bought my pflugers first I probably would have only bought the Lewis. I could get two of them for the price of one pfluger but I really like them pfluger reels. I've been using both pretty frequently and will have a much better opinion on them come end of may or early July

I have heard a lot of good stuff about those but I prefer an open face 10 to 1. Like you said it's best to stick with what works best for you and I reckon that's why so many different types and styles are made

How often are you getting your line after you catch some fish?
If I take my reels out of the bed of the truck daily and put them up the line on the 3 I have usually last me all season, but I don't do that and leave em in the bed of the truck so I have to change it at least twice on all 3 in the 8 months that fish are stocked if I fish the whole time.

I have found that it's best to retire my hook after every 2 or 3 I catch unless it's one of the larger ones then I need to change it immediately. That being said I usually end up getting in a hurry or forgetting to do so but I do try and remember to. Also when it's as cold as it has been I get cold really easy and it makes it much harder for me to tie a hook.
We can only use one rod at a time but I carry 3 and keep all 3 ready. If I get a fish on one pole I cast out a different one and keep doing that. Usually gives me time to warm up and change hooks out. Them trouts teeth are heck on fishing line especially that 2lb test

I like the open better the only reason I got the daiwas for my son he can cast them like a pro but he’s learning how to cast open but he mastered them quicker than I thought lol!! So I use whatever isn’t to bad to fix after he’s done playing with them at home and doesn’t tell me tell we get to the lake lol! Fixed that check before I go lol!! I’m impressed with the daiwas I’m going to order one of those Lewis and give it a try!!

I don't know why but they cost more to order plus you have to pay shipping. They have them at most every Walmart I've been to for $21 something
