this is the fish in question. What is it?

Doesnt look like a rainbow. It would be so cool if they were stocking the cut's. Im just being hopeful
Yeah it's just a rainbow, well at least as far as I know. It was really full of eggs. I've never actually seen a cut or even heard of them until you had asked. I'm gonna have to look up the cuts and see what info I can find. I've caught several over the years that look just like that one and fished with dozens of different people and have never heard anyone say anything other than rainbow. I've caught those brooks, browns, blue, and gold ones and am hoping they start stocking a few tiger trout around my area

Look at the spots on this cuthroat. Then look at the spots on that last fish. I think you got a cutbow my dude. Which rocks

You think so with the lack of rain and the heat this summer?
I'm going to assume there's a spring or several springs in that lake because typical stocked trout run 9-12". Or it could be there's deep water with adequate oxygen levels like Paintsville, those trout fair the summer just fine. I'm also going by that "weathered " look some of them have, can't say I've seen trout straight out of a raceway look like those.

If water temp is above 68 degrees they don’t have much of a chance in a stagnant lake.

The rubs on their fins are from living in the hatchery. You can tell the big ones were raised longer in the hatchery because of the stubby tails and fins from rubbing on the concrete. They stock 16inch fish

Now with that being said I really hope there are places that are cold enough and have enough o2 to support those fish

Our lakes definitely support them and have holdovers but they tend to stay out in deeper water that you can't reach from the bank. These were all stocked around 2 weeks ago. I have seen some big ones caught mostly during the summer that go around 10pound or more. This particular lake has 2 creeks that run into it and has been stocked for as long as I can recall.

Well we was at it again. Ended up getting 10 today. Didn't think we'd do that good considering they stocked 2 weeks ago
