Never heard of scoring anything like that.dont see how that could be even close to the real score?
Nice buck congrats!
Just say if that deer has a 25 inch beam which I don’t think it does. 25x5=125 by your crazy scoring method is not even close. That deer is way better than 125. That method gives you a number that’s it but not anything close.
It sounds crazy...I know....I said it sounds ridiculous in my original comments...but I left out one thing. You take the longest mainbeam x 5...and add the inside spread to that total if I remember correctly. So rakatak’s buck appears to me to have approximately an 18” inside spread. So add 18” to 125” and you come up w 143”.Does this make it any less crazy....? Should b within 4-5” of this bucks gross score and very quick n easy to do.
That makes a big difference.buck is bigger then 143" though.
Score s’more, that’s a great buck and a beautiful mount for anywhere and a Ky public land trophy, no doubt. Congrats!
I scored him myself and got 141 6/8. First one I’ve ever scored myself so he could be more or he could be less. Has a couple stickers on the left base and one on the right base that are over an inch and an abnormal point on toward end of right antler that is over an inch so that gave him over 8 inches in deductions if I did it right. Either way I couldn’t be more happy with him.
All I was trying to say was easy/quick and close... 2 measurements total.. instead of 8 measurements bare minimum per side and it gets you in the ballpark of the gross score.
It gives you a good idea by just taking 2 measurements....I have seen antlers rough measured this way numerous times ..and its a reliable way to get you in the ballpark.
Did you post this buck when you killed it? I Dont remember him
No I didn’t post it when I killed it. This is the first time it’s been posted.
Great deer and mount.
Well if you get time tell us the story. Very nice buck!

Gross b&c is what I was guesstamating.
