Congratulations!!! One day maybe I can take the training wheels off and hunt successfully with a traditional bow.
Lol, I kid my hunting buddies sometimes calling them training wheels, but we just laugh about it. But I have made clear here, and on any site I frequent, I hunt with what I enjoy hunting with. If others prefer a crossbow, rifle, or choose to throw rocks, I’m for them doing just that. It’s not something everyone enjoys but I do. There is something enjoyable about taking a Deer with something I made myself. But not everyone can devote the time it takes to build, practice year round, and to develop Confidence to hunt this way. But get out there when you can and use what you have the time to use successfully. Thanks for the kind words.
Carp, congratulations at the highest level! This is just plain AWESOME! I didn't see this post until this morning. I had planned on posting on this forum today as a matter of fact, requesting updates from all you guys in the traditional action since there's not been a lot on here as of late. I log in an BAM!.....here you are with Buckzilla!! Woo Hoo! Good going, Brother! I've yet to even see one even close to that size this year and you slammed it with the longbow! Way To Go Carp!
Way to go carpdaddy!! Couldn’t have happened to a better guy! I sure am glad he’s not in our contest Jman ... we would have a hard time besting that score...
Well if I did, I need it back. I've missed three REAL easy shots up here! ..........which is probably no surprise to you after seeing my shooting. LOL! Btw, what did the outside spread measure on your buck? That is an awesome deer!
I enjoy making as much as I can to hunt with. Bow, strings, quivers, knives, silencers, and a few broadheads. Make my own fletching from Turkey and Goose feathers donated by friends, arrows from cane and sticks. I have gotten lazy in recent years due to an abundance of sickness. I was using carbon arrows and Ace broadheads on this hunt. I process my own Deer also. Jman; I didn’t measure spread, but when I dig it out of freezer to do a skull mount I will. Thanks to all the kind comments.
