Anyone know of a tool to grate potatoes fine to make potato pancakes??
The old Box Grater takes a lot of work and elbow grease...the food processor/blender just turns all to mush.
Is there a rotary type tool anyone knows about??
    Thanks

  2. My grandmother had a hand crank food processor years ago that did a great job. I havent seen on like it since and I doubt they even make such an animal.

Leftovers are the key. Make too much and then you have potato pancakes.

Me also. Thought if they were grated they were just hashbrowns?

Look for a tool called a "ricer". It will make what you are looking for. Add flour, seasonings, hot oil and wala,,,,potato pancakes. Make sure to press the riced potatoes on paper towels before mixing with the other ingredients. They are full of water and will make giant dough balls if you don't. They will also splatter real bad while frying. ;)

http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/deluxe-angled-potato-ricer/ This is one worth owning.
