It has been several years since I've posted on here. I am fortunate to have been drawn for a bull firearm-week 2 permit in the at-large area. Is it better to apply for an LEA or keep the at-large and find somewhere to hunt? I'm sure I'm like many and applied for the draw since 2001. This is my first time getting drawn and now the real work begins. Any info you all can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was drawn for Bull firearm week 2 in the at-large area also and no clue where to go yet. Guided hunt just isn't in the budget. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated! I've been hearing a lot about hunting the old reclaimed mine areas but have no idea where or how to identify where any are. Help?

Got a tag for 2nd week of bull rifle season in the Hazard LEA. Anything anybody can tell me on where to go I would love to here from you. I don't know anyone in that area and have made 2 trips down to scout with no success. I have been told to stay away from every area that I have looked at that is public land. I am getting desperate and need help. I have been also to the Russell Fork Coal Mine outside of Jackson, ky with no luck. Looking to head back down this up coming weekend and continue the search.

My high school age son was drawn for a firearm cow elk tag January 2-8. Due to the school calendar, we are looking at hunting Jan 2-3 and hoping for success in two days. Anyone who would be willing to share information or provide access to their land for a cow elk, please send a PM. The tag is area at large.

2016. My wife's cousin has been drawn for the Straight Creek LEA. Against my advice, he plans to go DIY. Can anyone in the Straight Creek area at least give me a contact to pass on to him in order for him to find a place to park his camper, and at least point him in the general direction of entry to the Straight Creek area? Thanks.

Talked to a guide. $2000 for a cow hunt. What is the going rate that you guys are hearing if anyone else has talked to guides? Not trying to take anything away from guides but for 2k, I'll take some extra time off and take my chances on a DIY.

I wish I had spent more time in that end of the state. Are they really that hard to find or are a lot people limited with time/ don't want to put their own boots on the ground? Honest question. I'd gladly come over with a good chunk of cash for a guy putting me on a nice bull but it seems a little high for a cow.
