Pops and what actually happened

I swear, the communication and misinformation at this place is horribly unacceptable. Vascular said his aneurysm has not changed. Still stable. They said the green team told them that the family had changed their mind and requested to have the aneurysm fixed. Utter BS. I requested to move him to SKY tomorrow. That is approved. He's being moved to SKY in BG tomorrow. All teams said he is stable, and travel is not a problem. Procedures are not pressing, and can be performed out-patient in the next few weeks. A sleepless night due to some idiot that has no level of comprehension, nor the ability to accurately communicate between doctors and family. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of care has been tremendous. Couldn’t ask for better. But the inability to read and comprehend notes from physicians, or communicate family requests to the doctors, with this lady is unacceptable. She should not be in that position, and I will make sure that her superiors know this. Put us through hell three times due to incompetence. I will do everything in my power to remove those responsibilities from her.

Stressful times. Let administrators know the incompetence and how you were affected, but don’t let it consume you. You’ve got enough on your plate.

OMFG. I will strangle this asshole. He didn’t reach out to plastics yesterday to get the ok to move Daddy. Asked for clearance this morning, plastics said no. Daddy is horribly deflated. This is the last straw. I’m going off when I get there today.

I hate screwing with hospitals and doctors. If he's stable enough to move they really can't stop you if you can get him there safely in a personal vehicle.

The trauma team would not come to the floor. They called. Probably a good thing. Daddy is having the first procedure on his leg Tuesday afternoon to remove a large area of dead tissue and skin. All muscle is fine. They will monitor that for 48 hours to make sure all remaining is thriving, and no bacteria. If so, the skin graft will happen Friday. They will also do the aneurysm procedure Wed(no anesthesia). Will be 3-5 days after that before he can move. Plastics told me that has been the plan and the possibility of moving him should have never been discussed. Trauma team did not consult with him. Un friggen believable. Daddy’s VM this morning was gut wrenching. He was deflated. Thank God he was out of that mindset by the time I got there.

That is a really good hospital for stuff like that. Tell your dad a lot of people are pulling for him. I know when I had heart surgery it was depressing as hell for the first couple weeks when I didn't feel like I moving much. It felt like 2 yrs, not 2 weeks.

The next time I see that individual, it's going to be a very hostile situation. I truly hope he reacts in a hostile manner. I will have no hesitation in beating his ass after what he did to Daddy. His only rescue will be if somebody stops me before I get to him. Yes, I'm that angry. Yes, I know I will probably go to jail if I get to him. No, I don't care after what he has done.

Agree ... I wouldn't think it would do your Dad one bit of good if you got arrested for assaulting that SOB even though you might feel a little better.

Your wife's a lawyer, SUE the bastard for misfeasance or nonfeasance; that'd make his life a whole lot more miserable that any ass whoopin'.

We waited, and waited. About 2:30, I was informed they received a severe trauma patient from Lexington. At 5:30, they said he was being rescheduled to Thursday. It’s a trauma center, I get it, but damn. Daddy was disappointed. He said, “that’s just two more days here, can I eat now?” He’s in good spirits. They said Thursday is set in stone so we wait until then. Sick day wasted.

Sorry to hear this. That would be very frustrating but maybe God knows something we don’t. Maybe today wasn’t a good day for a pre-skin graft and God knew that. This may be a blessing in disguise that makes sense down the road. Continuing to pray for you and pops.
