Plowed fields

Best thing is to drive the river bottoms and big creeks then stop and knock on doors for permission when you see a good spot. Many folks are pretty good about letting you walk their fields if they aren't planted

I got a big pile of topsoil you can sift through. Has a ton of flint in it and found a couple recently after the rain.

If you ever get to New York I have a field that’s a mile long and 400 yards wide you can find all the arrow heads you want.

It is for arrow heads. A lot of people find a lot every year.

I noted some freshly plowed fields yesterday while working along the Western border of Jackson County near Morrill & Bighill area. After the rains last night those would be good spots. I do not know the land owners though, you will have to just stop and ask. But is is next door.

I’ve been walking the fields at the base of Backusburg Mounds for a few years now and like morels I’ve yet to find the first one. You’d think I’d find something within eyesight of a big mound like that.
