I think they have actually wiped them out around the Fancy Farm area in Graves and Carlisle County. I have tried to get permission to hunt them but people are prone to saving them for friends and family. The local Cty Governments actually paid a helicopter crew to hunt them.

This. The potential damage of this utterly selfish, ignorant act is in the hundreds of millions (possibly billions) of dollars.

A sow is good eatin no matter how big she is I've killed them up in the 200+lb range and ate the hell out of them. A boar on the other hand I won't even fool duty him, cut the head off, leave the rest, coyotes, possums and buzzards gotta eat too. I've been told there are ways to cook a boar hog but nah, too many sows around

Sausage is good from the bigger boars. We killed eleven in TX and 3 were over 140 pounds. The smaller hogs say 60 pounds and down we had processed just like a domestic and they were great. The sausage from the big boars was very good too. I ate wild hog for a year it seemed and never got tired of it. Obky disappointment was our bacon wasn't that great, the chops, ribs etc was all good.

I own land in eastern Kentucky, and a guy out that said that he knew some folks that let pigs out, so they culd have a hog hunt.

    Dumbass.

My guess would be that the one charging people to hunt them on their land was the one who released them.

I don't feel sorry for them. Instead of offering to let a good honest hunter an opportunity to help thin them out they charge big money. Their land though, do as they wish.

Well, I have to admit (and repent)...back in the early 80s when my uncle, who had a farm in Hart county, told me coyotes were harassing his calves, I thought he'd taken a trip to "Looney land".

Now I've seen one running around in my backyard--in my neighborhood. Killed a rabbit in my driveway about four days ago. I keep telling the neighbors to watch their little dogs when they let them out. They're not paying attention, but will soon learn.

I first saw them in Edmonson County near Mammoth Cave. Doyle Valley, if you know where that is....

Oh really? Hell, I thought they begged people to come shoot those taberculosis ridden things? I thought the big money hunts were the ones where you hang from a chopper, like Rambo, and shoot them with mini-guns?

We had a local rocket scientist go to Tenn and buy a breeding pair and release in your county back in the 90's. The CO got wind of it and shot them both before they could get started. He couldn't pin it on the idiot but let him know he would be watching him close from now on. It never happened again.
