Well this jerk isn"t going to help.......
Jerk? A jerk would send him to the wrong spots, give him wrong info, and have his up to down and left to right...

A jerk would have lit the thread to fire with a couple strokes of genius through the keyboard before me, all at the OPs expense...

I did neither. I giggled

There's a difference between help and entitle. Peabody maps are free with purchase of the permit and the laws are all free in the hunting guides... the rest is up to boot leather and regular unleaded to figure out.

By the way mods, isn't name calling a shade of black and white? As in totally against the rules?

I'm just expressing the humor in this is all... ya see I find it funny a man's gonna head somewhere totally uneducated about what he's walking in to and seek the legalities and advice of such from a bunch of names in a screen that he doesn't know.

well mods isn't laughing at someone a form of belittling a person at their own expense...where does it end.......people come here and ask questions to try and get some advise...only to get laughed at and ridiculed for simply looking for advise......i know i am not well liked on here for firing back...but it really annoys me to see people asking simple questions on here about hunting and then getting bashed by the 12 point mob who sit around on their couch with nothing better to do but ridicule people...it just gets old after a while....isn't this supposed to be a hunting forum? seriously..the fighting and bickering that goes on in here ought to make the PETA gang sing praises.........

To be precise, he didn't ask one question about hunting... he asked about procedures at Peabody WMA... Those questions can all be answered with minimal effort through free documents distributed by KDFWR at all license retailers... personally, I would much rather get my info from the horse's mouth, KDFWR, than someone who doesn't know mods is plural and isn't is singular (see, that's kinda being a jerk).

Now your trying to get political ......he asked a question that has to do with hunting.......quit trying to twist it to something its not.........LOL.......just answer the guys question or don"t answer at all......if I had the answer i would give it to him......maybe you would like to get your info from KDFWR......but he feels comfortable getting it through this forum....but maybe after this craziness he might think otherwise.....

There are only two things you need to know about Peabody:

1. You need a Peabody permit.

2. If you see the Red S-10, you'd best execute a U-turn and go somewhere else.

Everything else you need to know regarding the laws can be answered by a marvelous invention called "The Google Machine."

Well shucks.

Lots of folks camp there for turkey and deer season. There is also a decent hotel nearby if you get caught in a storm of chigger/tick infested .........both are fair let likely.
I think that you have to quit waterfowl hunting at one or two but you should check a guide.

There are lots of places to duck hunt if you spend some time scouting. A canoe or kayak would be perfect for getting around.
One concern in the areas near water would be cottonmouths. Yes there are lots of them and with the cooler temps lately they have been active heading to winter dens. EXPECT to see them because you will.
Nothing to be scared of but treat them with respect.

Be careful to know the boundaries because like anywhere the adjoining landowners don't like it when folks happen to stumble across their property just because they " got confused "
I'm not real sure about the time frame in this but there used to be a lot of dope grown in that area. If it's not past harvest time for that you may run into a patch or two. If that happens just backtrack out slowly the way you came in. Some of those guys guard their plots pretty seriously. Same thing for meth labs .... I don't think they have a harvest season.

If you see grocery bags full of dirty diapers hanging in trees on the roads just back out. I don't know what it means but it's associated with bad business and you just don't want to be a mile or so up a dead end gravel road if something goes down.

You will find that degree of reward is based on effort.
Study the maps and keep your eyes open. It's a great place and it belongs to all of us so make sure to pack your trash out.
I hope this was helpful. Enjoy your hunt.
