Out of State License

Did KY , or some state, at one time, charge , whatever , the home of the residents state charged , for non residents. I know its not like that now, and i dont really see how they would have kept up with it anyway. But for some reason, i want to think it was Ky, or could have been another state, i hunted did it. I may be completely wrong, but thinking it was like that, at one time.

Indiana did it for awhile. If you lived in Ohio the OOS price was different than if you lived in Ky

In Illinois, if you are a nonresident but own at least 40 acres, you can hunt you own land at a greatly reduced price (about a 50% savings).

It should be that way, i think, Honestly probably should be able to buy license as a resident . But im sure a lot wouldnt agree, with that, and would cause a big debate probably.

Maryland used to do that, reciprocal of whatever your state charged OOS hunters to hunt what game. Now it's a straight $130 + stamps. But they also have a special Waterfowl 3 day tag for $35 since that's what they were known for.

Any idea if that allows you to hunt public land as well? Or are you saying you can hunt only your own land as a non resident?

Ohio and Indiana are both reciprocal states, in that if your home state allows out-of-state landowners to hunt their own land w/o a license, Ohio/Indiana will let you do the same in their state. Kentucky is not a reciprocal state, so anyone from Kentucky that wants to hunt their own land in Ohio/Indiana has to pay the out-of-state license fees. And I can tell you from experience in 2022 Indiana jacked their out-of-state license fee up to $550 to take 3 deer, insane!!

They probably didnt, i dont really even know why i even was thinking of it. But i thought some state did it. I guess it was a state i hunted somewhere, charged Ky residents, for whatever Ky charged their, residents, for oos license.

Some states do. I remember reading about it but too lazy to look it up at the moment.

If I remember right, Virginia will let land owners and their family use land owner tags, on their parcel of land, even if the primary residence is out of state. Which in my opinion should be how it is everywhere.
