PR and I made it out for a little over an hour before we had to head out for an archery shoot he wanted to go to. Saw 7, killed 4, with him drawing first blood

Back then squirrels were about the only thing we had to hunt in E Ky, no deer no turkey, a few ground hogs and grouse if you were fast enough to hit them, and rabbits, but we hunted squirrel all season long.

I went...took about an hour to take my limit on Kleber WMA...mostly smaller grays (one larger fox squirrel)...mostly in small hickories (one in a scaly bark, one in a white oak)...two more squirrels in the same tree that numbers 5 and 6 came out of, two more in the next tree over...

Anyone hunt near Louisville? I wanna go but have no one to go with or even anywhere I know of in the area. I just moved here this year so I’m wondering if someone would like to go with me or point me in a good direction of where to go near Louisville thanks

It took me 65 minutes to get the limit on the opener. Mostly in pignuts. Best thing was, they were all very young except one. Can’t wait to fry them and make gravy. I think fried young squirrel is as good of wild game as there is.

So far I've bagged 4 Grays, three young and one old. Went yesterday morning for a couple of hours and bagged one and that was the only one I saw. Just too HOT! With this rain coming and hope cooler weather, the Squirrels should move better.
