Ok if you was going to spend the money and do a once in a lifetime hunt for Whitetail a where would it be? We are looking to put a deposit on a hunt but we cannot really decide exactly where. Im thinking Alberta or Saskatchewan. I really love those big body deer and dark chocolate horns.

You've already named them. Research, research, research. Don't book a hunt based on a fancy advertisement, ask for references and follow up on them both successful and unsuccessful hunters. There's plenty of smaller outfits up there that offer phenomenal hunts for a fraction of the cost and don't run a hundred hunters through each season where you're hunting a spot that was burned out a month before. Also, look at the area you will be hunting. Saskatchewan for instance, the further south you hunt to the nonresident line the more likelihood of it being interspersed with crop ground and higher deer densities than further north in the bush where the numbers are dramatically lower. Plenty of very knowledgeable guys on here that have hunted Canada and can give you the ins and outs.

I'm on par with Little FR. Been fortunate enough to hunt a few other states and had luck. I love Kansas. Killed in IL and Ohio also. Iowa is a bucket list of mine. But for now. I really enjoy chasing whitetail on my own. However to each their own. If your looking to drop some change on a hunt. I don't blame you a bit for looking where you already are. I would love to go there for big Mule deer one day. I think Redlined nailed it though. You gotta do your research before you go! Good luck!

I'd book a two week hunt in Alberta. Been there several times, low deer density means you're not seeing many, but a giant could step out any time. Two weeks would increase your odds at a shooter. First time I went didn't see a deer the first 2 1/2 days.
Be prepared to eat your tag regardless where you pick. Just because you're paying several thousand $$ and have a guide, it's anything but a slam dunk. I've shared camp with several hunters that couldn't comprehend not getting a shot at a stud.
Nebraska would be my second choice. Texas third (my experience in Texas has evidently been different than @Tankt s experience).

Same as you OP. If it was in the US, I’d do a rut hunt on a farm in Illinois or Iowa.

I think every dedicated bowhunter should hunt in Canada either Sask or Alberta and the midwest once. It's just a different experience than in KY. Otherwise, just do some due diligence in looking for a reputable outfitter, don't be surprised to eat a tag, expect to have a good chance to have a shot at a respectable animal but not necessarily a booner. However in those places an absolute freak can pop out at any time.
