Can't wait to get back to fishing. Sure wish I had a place to bank fish nearby so we could get out before it's warm enough for us to take the boat out.

Wish ammo wasn't so expensive these days cause I could use a few days of range time!

I try to plan my canning around deer season but you've gotta preserve what ya find when ya find it. Did a quick inventory the other day & had almost 1700 jars of home canned goodness in the storeroom. That's a lotta work! Folks ask why I put up so much but it's all about availability. When I can find good stuff cheap or (better yet) free, it goes in a jar! It'll get used eventually - we go thru at least a dozen jars each week. (I did go harder on soups this fall because of rising prices. I went on & bought all the ingredients then & jarred the soup up, figuring it'd be a lot more expensive to do later on.) Canned a few jars of cowboy candy over the weekend & will be doing venison taco soup & chicken pot pie filling in the next few weeks.

My cast iron search is on a hiatus due to Covid. It'll kick back up in the spring. I'm cleaning & restoring a piece or two here & there for folks in the meantime.

The dogs are sure enjoying having us both at home. Probably going to be losing one before long. Had an ugly tumor removed last week & haven't gotten the pathology report back yet but we know it's cancer. Just a case of what kind & how invasive it is. So I'm trying to spend more time with our old girl.

Hoping to get back into photo editing soon. Been fighting issues with the program though - darned thing keeps locking me out & won't recognize my authorization key to get back in so I have to contact the company & wait for them to reset it & then try again. Very aggravating!!!!!

I just got a few hundred feet of candle wick. Going to make some oil lamps and candles as a arts and craft project with this indoor weather.

Haven’t found a kid yet that didn’t like making emergency candles or camp stoves.

Got about 30 coon baculums I need to finish up too.

I have 2 bee hives and will grow by a couple more this spring. so they will take some time and I will also do some swarm trapping (fingers crossed). We have a kitchen remodel upcoming that I'll be doing somewhere tween March and May. New countertops all around, removing most of the upper cabinets and putting in open shelving, and painting cabinets and island cabinets. They put a plate rack right above the sink that my wife HATES (who doesn't put a window over the sink??? Anyhow she's getting a 5' window, new stove (antique cookstove look with modern burners and oven in it. That's why we were in Lexington, meeting with a wooden countertop guy. And she's getting some form of new range hood fan I think. I just build/install/and write checks. And she's getting new lighting also. LOL. So I'll be busy!

Windows are brutal. I put a huge one over my sink when I bought the house they had a double window in it that no modern window would match without a custom cut. I picked out the biggest standard size double pane I could possibly frame in and saved about $800.

@KYBOY I got my molds fired up as well. Experimenting with slugs and soon to be .50 cal conicals. Need some #4 buck molds that don’t suck. I have fishing weight molds but don’t snag anymore or catfish much.
