This is as slow as I have seen it on Nov 6th in a long time. I usually take off the week before gun season. I’ve decided to work a few days until it starts picking up.
The cold front coming this weekend should have them on their toes. Just wish it would have come a little sooner.

Cancelling vacations should be illegal. Makes me sick. Tell them you got PTO. Means Prepare The Others cause you ain’t gonna be there.

Me too. I wasnt wasting this week to beat the woods to death before cold snap.

I’m off next Friday then taking entire gun season off. My wife is off too… I wish she was better at spotting deer in cover or we’d hunt separate but I’ll back up her 350 Legend with something louder.

Hunted morning and evening.....not a deer! This south wind is killing me. I've only got one stand for rut hunting a south wind and I'm afraid I've burned it out. Hunted it more in the last week than I normally hunt it in a year. Gonna hunt Knox tomorrow to switch it up, then hunt some of my best stands with marginal, at best, winds. Hate to do that, but these south winds will likely continue all next week. Did I mention I hate this heat !!

Called it quits a little after lunch. Scouted my way back to the truck and found some good fresh rubs and a huge scrape that just opened up at the edge of a bedding area in a good little pinch point. The only good tree close by is a big shag bark and I can only image the racket I’ll make trying to climb that in my summit. I’m thinking my best bet is to slip in there one morning this week when the wind is right with the ghillie suit and set up on that spot
