Thinkin bout goin to Chadron area of Nebraska for a few days to hunt turkey on public land. I've killed a bird in the Devils Tower area of WY. It was a blast but it was private land. Round trip air is only $350 to Rapid City SD. These are 100% Merriams. From what I've been reading, I think I have better harvest odds there then I would in the SD Black Hills or WY public DIY hunts.

    Anybody have any experience there?

I hunted chadron. But on private. Sure was fun. Lots of birds. I’m sure public has lot to offer to.

Get the Nebraska public lands Atlas and look at the "Open Lands & Water" sites. There are some hidden gems. Also, Ft Robinson is worth visiting, even if you don't hunt there. I'll be over there towards the end of May.

I will research that Thx. Was hoping I could kill a bird in Ne. the 1st couple days and then go to the SD Black Hills and wonder around for a few days and maybe kill one there also. Hopefully I'm being realistic?
