Can anyone give a Nolin or Rough fishing report for this past weekend. I didn't get to go. Just wondering if anythings happening yet, concerning crappie or whites.
I plan on tring my luck on some crappies this year in Nolin and Rough. I am new to crappie fishing. Where are some of the best places to start? What type of structure and depth do they hold on in those two lakes? If you want to go and need a partner let me know. I have a boat and live between Caneyville and Morgantown. I just started fishing Rough last year and have never fished in Nolin.
I don't fish the lake that much. When i do I fish nolin, since I'm more familiar w/this lake. We usually fish the lake early before they start making thier run up the rivers @ about mid march. We fished nolin the weekend before last. A fish finder is defiantly the ticket. We would cruse around until we started picking up fish on the screen. Alot of these were suspended @ 4-6 ft. deep and scattered about, nothing really staked up , so to speak. We did pick up a few around submerged logs. The majority were just under 9". I think we had 3 keepers out of the whole bunch. We had the most strikes from a blue matalic/charturse tube jig suspended below a small bobber. The lake temp. @ that time showed 43-47 deg. But the best time I enjoy is when they start making thier way up the rivers, which should be soon. We basically fish them the same way, tube jig 2' below a bobber.
