It sure is. I suspect a lot of Large Bucks are never seen in Daylight after they get 4 years old. Die of old age or get in a weakened condition and are killed by Coyotes.
Of course this one may have taken a Bullet, ran into a Thicket a mile away and died.

I love it when they shed their whole head, makes finding a matching set so much easier. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Very nice. I'd say there's a good chance some hunter is kicking himself for not finding that one. Looks too good to have died of old age.

I too believe that past age 5 big bucks are nocturnal 99.9% of the time. The true super bucks could probably care less about breeding and remain loners on the fringes.
