I have posted here a few times about creek fishing around my house. I have a really nice creek on the backside of the farm that I have caught some really nice smallmouth out of. I have fished it from the bank in the winter and wading in the summer but I have stepped up my game and bought me a new kayak

Nice. I’m looking for a 13ft for spring. I’m bowing out of bass tournaments and going to get back to chasing big fish with minimum access. And boating to some hunting spots.

Nice boat. Looks like you'll prot be able to stand up in it.

Yeah I did a lot of research on this one. It is pretty stable to stand up and fish. I’m sure it will take a little while to master it.

I need to get into this as well. Feel like it’s something different that I’d enjoy and I used to fish all the time and rarely make time for it anymore. Have fun! Be safe!

Fur Feather your right!! Just put on a manual power pole anchor system. This should help me sit tight and be able to fish those bigger pockets of water that I come up on. Going to try it out soon because last December I had some really good days of 3 pound smallmouths.

I’d say you’ll enjoy that kayak. I’ve had a Jackson Big Tuna for several years and love it. Mines a little on the heavy side but stable on the water and seats are comfortable. I’ve caught many a fish from that kayak that otherwise I’d never have caught. Enjoy it.

My son gave me a old boat trailer. I have painted it,new wheel bearings and made some brackets so I could use a kayak saddle style mount. Now I’m ready to fish. Last year when I was off for Christmas was some of the best fishing I have had in a while hopefully it will repeat this year. Will send pics

Looks good so far! Be thinking about that power pole when you fish moving water like creeks or rivers which might have down trees or limbs elevated across the water. This was my only hang up on that system. You can get into some hairy places and either break it or flip your boat. I opted for just the hand held pole and ring mounted to the side of my kayak. Just something to think about.
