Buy a bag of humics and spread it around your feed areas, and through your mineral lick if you are worried bout CWD. Humics kills the spores if they even exist.
CWD isn't spread by spores. They are damaged proteins called prions that are passed along in saliva, etc.

Correct. It is spread by prions like mad cow. It can persist in soil for decades. About the only quick way to get rid of it is to burn the infected matter or carcass at temps above 1800 degrees.

Probably need a ban on baiting. They had CWD cases in western ky. Nothing like waiting for a known problem before doing something about it.
Why a ban on baiting? Are there states out there that have successfully stopped CWD by stopping baiting? Like say Tennessee that didn’t allow baiting to begin with? Or did CWD eventually show up and run its course anyways like it did in Wisconsin, Illinois, etc? Nothing will stop it except nature its self. Some animals will die. Some will survive. The ones that survive will ultimately lead to a stronger herd. Passed a green creek bottom this weekend that had 27 deer in what is a 2 acre field at most. Are those deer not capable of spreading it to each other since it’s not corn? My rant isn’t directed at you. Just pointing out the ill logic used to justify the end of baiting.

The regulation 301 KAR 2:015 that went into effect on 2/2/23 includes a ban on the use of salt, minerals or other attractants from 3/1 through 7/31
The regulators will have to inform the deer of the new law so they won’t go to salt holes during that time…. Absolutely unenforceable.
