This is the real rack, original 100 percent Big Red rack, on display, at Bass Pro, shop in Springfield, Mo. Both this pic, and the one, of the one up , off the ground, were pics sent to me, from members on here, and I appreciate them doin that. Hoene can fill you in on the one @ Ft Mitchell , as i have never seen it, ..

Great to hear he’s doing better. One of these days I’m gonna see that true 100% rack with my own eyes. Is it on the actual cape of big red?

I never been to the bass pro down there either myself, but its not original cape, He told me some guy took Big Red to NY to some kind of show or something, years ago, and they bought a seat on the plane , just for the Big Red Head, I dont know anything about planes , or cargo, but im saying, he wanted the head up where he could see what was goin on, so they made him pay for a seat for it to be beside him, In my opinion, he did good to have a few pics of the whole buck when he killed it. He was a auctioneer , and kept a camera with him, to take pics of real estate or stuff he was selling. Picture taking back then ,not as much or as easy as today, My dad killed a monster either 65 or 66, rack not as Big As Big Red, 140 something 9 point, but he field dressed 260, I remember, really no one , around here knew how to really process a deer, I remember they hung my dads up with a front end loader on a tractor, back feet up in the air, field dressed him, then got him over to a scale, and weighed him, then while he was hanging up, my dad cut his throat right under his chin, to let him bleed out like a hog. Only way they knew i reckon they had any idea how to process it same as they did hogs and steers. Was only 2nd year of a season. So i think C.W was fortunate to get the pics he has.

Sounds to me he’s doing good! If I was promised 82 I’d take it! I lived in a apartment for 6 months during the summer and I was surrounded by older people. It was awesome to come home and be greeted by them and they just wanted to talk with the kids and tell stories. My ex’s grandpa was a WW2 Pearl Harbor survivor. We would sit on the porch and I would listen and learn so much.

Couldnt prove it by me, there is a gobbler, in Todd County, maybe they show up when stuff starts greening up and they go to chasing bugs Mya's i love talking to old people, especially hunters and fisherman, but pretty much any old person, is pretty wise, they didnt get old, being dumb, but i have always knew, but even more so, since i been sick myself, memories and talking about them, is all a lot of them have, and you can tell when they start talking about something in the past, you can hear the excitement, in their voices and expressions, they are back in time, when things were exciting, and a different time in their life than now..

Been talking to C.W awhile this afternoon, and his voice was stronger sounding than before he got Covid, said, he is suppose to go back to dr first of week, he or myself, have no idea, what they do now, We dont know if or how they see if its still in his system. . Funny, pretty much any one knows his name, knows him as the man that killed Big Red, and very seldom, does he ever come up, in our conversation, unless someone asks me a question about it. He told me one time, i knew as much about Big Red as he did, i just wasnt the one on the hunt and shot him. I told him i didnt know anything about him other than crazy stories, i have read, and newspaper, clippings and what he had told me. I dont think, i ever mentioned this, but he said Big Red, had several small shot in him, from a shotgun, and also a small calibur bullet, he had, in him that he still has if he could find it.. He said when or if he finds it, he was gonna give it to me. Dont know of it will come about or not, but he kept telling me, about a pic he was suppose to have of him , and Big Red, hanging in a barn, and he was holding his rifle, that very few had ever seen , but since he said he couldnt find it, i didnt figure he would but one day in the mail got a big brown envelope , pic was in it he had found it and Blown it up, and surprised me, so many this bullet will. Again appreciate all tbe thoughts and prayers.
