Coyotes normally only den when they are having pups. They will bed like a deer at other times of the year, cedar thickets, weed fields, briar thickets. Even when they have pups it's usually behind a fallen tree, or under a multiflora rose, not a den underground like many think.

I don't know of any farms or wildlands in KY that don't have coyotes. The key is figuring where they are likely to be bedded, and have a setup that lets them expose themselves for a shot before getting your wind. Avoid skylining yourself or travelling through noisy cover to get to a setup.

Start with a rabbit distress, and after 15 minutes pause for 3-4 then use coyote pup distress for 5, then go on. Stay away for 2 weeks whether you call something in or not, rest assured your calls were heard.
