Yesterday lil 7 year old short stack shot in her first ASA qualifier in Marion, KY. For no longer than she has been shooting, she knocked it out of the park. Never missed the target and only shot two fives. She did get three twelves. Her final score was a 182 or -18 for those who shoot 3D competitions. This is a huge increase from her 1st try at 3D (147). We started on target 16 if you are trying to make heads or tails of her score card. The only 6-8 year old kid to beat her was an 8 yr old boy who has been shooting for over a year, and he shot a 188. My buddy Shaun went with us and was her shooting partner. He shot well too in the known 40 class (206). We are going to keep working with her this week and try to shoot even (200) or close to it in London next weekend.

Short stack shot in her 1st S3DA youth tournament today. She was the youngest and smallest one there out of 109 kids. The competition and course was fierce. They said this is the hardest course she will ever shoot on. She finished in 2nd place. She missed her first ever target but rebounded with several 12s and 10s to keep her in the top 3.

They grow up fast my boy started at 7yrs old and is 15 now and Wednesday we will be hitting the road to Foley Alabama to the first Pro/Am of the year

Will you be going this weekend to the Pro/Am? My daughter is dying to go so we booked the trip. She shoots on Saturday at 8:00 on range N.

We didn't get to go to London for the ASA qualifier. However, we made our way to Ft. Benning Alabama for the Black Eagle/Darton Pro-Am. I think short stack was nervous in the beginning not shooting like she normally does and it was kinda dark still, but about 4 targets in she settled in and started busting 10s on almost every target. She finished 3rd female in her age group, but unfortunately ASA doesn't separate male from female. She finished 8th overall against some really good kids that were a lot bigger and 1 year older than her. Competition archery media caught these pics of her shooting at the practice bags before the sun came up. Next up S3DA in Anderson County this Saturday.

She was 4 up going into her last 5 targets and they were in the hard wind except #4. She still managed to finish in 2nd place. I can't wait to see how good 1st place shot because at this age, shooting in the 190s almost always guarantees you a win.
