I got this 8 pt last night at 5:20. Ive been sitting under a big cedar tree for the last 3 days. Where Im sitting overlooks a small growed up pond. It still has plenty of clean water in it and the deer and wildlife were using it all day long.Along the dam of the pond were numerous rubs and they were being rubbed at night.I could see the changes in the bark every morning. I knew if I sat there long enough a buck would show up. This buck came up the wooded draw just behind the pond dam.I watched him go around and start to walk onto the dam at about 100 yds from where I was sitting. He gave me a good broardside shot and the 243 barked. He dropped where he stood as the Hornady 95gr SST double lunged him. Im really proud of him because I got him where no one has ever thought about deer hunting on the farm at. Everyone would always head on deep into the farm, saying all the deer are in the back..... Im posting a entry and exit pics of his inner rib cage to show what a 243 can do.
