A glide bait should sink; At a slow rate though. You’ll want to keep it to where you can see it as you fish these on a slack line. So seeing the fish grab it is a huge advantage. A high speed reel helps keep the line tight and helps you catch up to a fish but I use Calcutta 400s and they are a slower reel at 5:0 gear ratio and I don’t usually have any issues. hellhounds are probably the most forgiving gliders to use. Phantoms are nice, as are mantas. And there’s a whole myriad of custom gliders out there.
