This thing eats batteries. They may last a few weeks with very few pics. Last season I changed the batteries once in it. Anyone know if this is the demise of a camera? My old primos did the same thing but lasted 4 yrs.

My M80 is going 3 yrs strong. I have two primos that lasted 2 months and started eating batteries.

Have you tried resetting it by depressing the reset button in the battery well? If that doesn't work, contact Moultrie and they can email you the software update for it. I've had a couple of the M80's do that over the past few years and one of those two steps has always fixed it. Other than that I love the M80's and have had good luck with them.

Thanks man I'll try that. Forgot about resetting. I think they only had one update in 2011?

my m80 is hit and miss. biggest thing with them is they won't handle a high performance SD card. irritating... you don't find out until you go check the camera, and the batteries have gone down 40%, and you get one picture... I'll never buy another one.

So you suggest trying cheap 2 gig cards?
