Not owned one but looked at buying one last year and after research I decided against it. I held one and liked it and wanted to find good reviews but I found about 50-50. I believe there are better rifles out there for the money. That mossberg I believe is just more appealing to the eye with the fluted barrel, thirsted bolt, bigger bolt handle etc.

My father in law has one and in 30-06 it’s wood with the fluted barrel twisted bolt and it looks really good. I was very pleased with it accuracy wise for what it was. Trigger was pretty fair as well. I’d not hesitate a bit to buy one at the right price.

Anyone own one of the Mossberg Patriots that Walmart sells? Anyone know much about them, like how good or bad their triggers are?
For what they are and the price point they are at. They’ll be hard to beat. They seem to have good accuracy and a lot of features people want with fluting and adjustable trigger. The ones with the woodstocks look great. With that being said, if you’re wanting a highly refined rifle from a fit and finish standpoint, you’ll have have to pay at least double. If it pleases you, buy it.

I've got a wood stock one in a .308. It's a sweet shooter at a cheap price. Seems to be just as accurate as any of our other rifles. Rings the gongs easily at 200 and 300 yards & dropped a buck with it the first time I took it hunting.

Seriously thought about selling it since I got my Ruger but it's such a fun shooter that I'm keeping it just for grins.

I have glass bedded and went thru the trigger on 3 of them, zeroed them, and all shot under 3/4" with factory ammo, 3 shot groups. One a .243 with my handloads shot a ragged hole at 100yds.

I got the youth model 308 for my son. We've had it 3 years now. Has the same trigger as the adjustable triggers, some love it, some hate it. From what I can tell is Mossberg makes a really good barrel with everything around it built cheap. So you have a fairly accurate cheap rifle. With that said would I buy it again? Yes as a youth model that will only be used a few years. Would I buy as an every day go to rifle? No I like better quality actions and mags.

I should proof read before sending. It has the same adjustable trigger as the savage.

Really, people are still buying guns from Wal-Mart. I know it's not my place but after everything that has went on in America I thought sportsman were boycotting Walmart and all other Chinese / Homosexual Supporting businesses???????????????????????????????????
Mossberg is a great gun company but please buy from any other local gun shop or other online transfer sights like Buds online. Have the gun you want shipped to a local FFL mom and pop. It might cost you 40-80$ more but it helps local mom and pop shops and real sportsman families, not Ching-Chang-Mitch and his Bitch.

I bought one for $100 off a crackhead. It's a youth model "deer thugs" in .243 and will shoot right at MOA with core lokt. Decent adjustable trigger. Has a trigger like a Savage, with the little pre trigger BS
And we patriots wonder as per always why, why can't sportsman avoid the cheap Wal-Mart Chi-com system?????
