Looked forward to last weeks hunt in Missouri for some time. We killed one duck! The average came out to be less than one duck per hunter for the weekend.

Yup. Near daily reports that I'm getting is that it is the Dead Sea... or rice field as the case may be.

I was in Mound City for 3 days last week and the weather was balmy by the time we left Thursday. No wind for the sock decoys for snows but we still managed to bring down 16 of those. There were 150,000 ducks on Squaw Creek Refuge and were all feeding at night in the full moon with clear skies. We killed 4 GWT and 6 mallards during the first 15 minutes of shooting time then nothing the rest of the morning. Saw plenty of specklebellies and mallards migrating back north Thursday night as we were leaving the field.

Hunted in Kennett Friday-Sunday and ended up just killing 7 ducks in those three days. Very slow over that way!!!!

I hunted Missouri saturday. Saw more ducks than I ever have in one day. Too bad we were about 200 yards from where they were going and didnt fire a single shot.

Where are they going? I'm guessing they're riding this south wind back north?

Word on the street is that there was a pretty good reverse migration this morning.

Hmm that sounds familiar. I'll add we saw as many ducks as anywhere I've ever hunted, but the weather has them in non working mode. Proves that weather dictates success no matter where you are.

it has been hit and miss at our lease in missouri near kenett. we can go one day and kill 1 or 2 and the next kill our limit. they are just really call shy right now and weary due to the weather being so messed up. i would say next week and the week after are gonna be our best 2 weeks of the year. i cant complain as we have killed almost 100 birds in 8 days of hunting.
