I haven't fished minnows in years........ decades. What's everybody use for minnow hooks these days? I've always used a long shank J hook. Going to reelfoot next month.
Long shank in a size 4 if I'm using just a hook. I've actually seemed to have more luck with tipped 1/16 ounce jigs the last couple years though.
Yeah I just tip a small jig with them when I do it but I haven’t gone after the crappie in awhile. Need to soon!!!
What do you think the Vegas over/under, in seconds, is for me to get to the bottom of 75 icy steps? Then the metal walkway to the dock is at a very steep angle.
I always tip a jig. Anybody remember the old crappie rigs back in the day with two hooks wrapped around a small cardboard tube? I haven’t seen them in years.
I've did it both ways sometimes they hit better one way or the other , and most of the time I'll tie on a Popeye jig just above it bout a foot
