Cool video showcasing Steve Rinella’s Kentucky elk hunt.

I wonder how many years Steve put in before drawing a tag lol

Any idea what people pay for the landowner tags? I'm sure it depends on the landowner obviously. Just curious what a ballpark figure is.

I've seen them go from $3000-$10k, depending on area

I’m not sure how they work but their are commissioners tags too and they go high dollar. Was on a hunt and a guy said he paid like 16k or something.

I think tags are given to originations like Quail Forever to raffle or auction as a fund raiser.

Back in 2008 or so I was part of a RMEF Banquet and we sold a tag for $24,000. I believe it was a commissioner's tag.

And then wrote it off as a business expense, no doubt.

I get that these high dollar tags help fund conservation but man it feels like it’s a losing battle between the haves and have nots.

I doubt many on here are "have nots."
But there will always be "have mores."

Plenty of have nots in Eky/most of rural Appalachia we just don’t see them that way because they can still do all the things we love to do on a lot less money.

Funny but I know a lot of “have nots” who “have lots” but who “have not” worked a day in their life! I’m not jealous of anyone and any possessions that they may have. I’m definitely blessed more than I deserve. Having said that, I scratch my head when I see folks with 2800 square feet homes, 70k truck, and 70k Ranger boat but don’t work and their wives don’t work. I’m simply curious as to how you do that.
