Anyone here do any magnet fishing? I just bought a magnet and am looking forward to trying it out.

watched someone do it off a pier in Florida a couple months ago. They tossed that magnet for 30 minutes or more and all they caught was a rusty nail. Guess its like regular fishing in that regard. Given enough time/throws Im sure you could find some treasures. Guess its kind of like metal detecting.

Good luck. Let us know what you pull up.

Funny, I spent an hour yesterday on a facebook group looking at people's catches. I don't magnet fish, but it caught my eye and I was curious what people were finding. Mostly old rusty non usable junk. I did see a few old rusty guns.

I’d say water is like the ground,a lot of lost items laying in the ground ,just waiting to be found.

    Yeah, YouTube it.

years ago, I was trapping a farm next to a river, I had afew box sets out with 220 conibers and was catching Otter. One of my 220s was missing. Thankfully, it was on a feeder creek that fed into the main river. That creek was probably 10-12 foot wide, but about 6-8 foot deep. Anyway, I used a kayak, a magnet, and found the Otter with the 220. Amazingly strong critters, he had swam 15-20 yards. Trap around $9 and Otter at the time was pushing $50-60. Good find, so worth it!
