I dont see any magazine capacity restrictions on rifles...only shotguns. http://fw.ky.gov/deerguide09smallgame.asp FURBEARER EQUIPMENT RESTRICTIONS Legal Furbearer hunters may use the following to take furbearers: • Muzzle-loading or modern rifles or handguns of any caliber • Shotguns no larger than 10-gauge • Archery or crossbow equipment • Dogs • Falconry Shotguns used to hunt furbearers must be plugged to hold a maximum of three shells (two in magazine and one in chamber). Illegal The following is prohibited: • Hunting these species with slingshots • Using or carrying buckshot when hunting these species
For hunting the limit is 10 rounds centerfire for deer I can't see where it would be less for coyote JD is right 3 for shotgun
Thanks. Got my first kill Saturday Afternoon, small female. Used a Fox Pro Fury and Bushmaster .223. Rabbit in distress. Came in on the second stand, shoot her at 63 yards.
Where does it say that in the regs? For deer hunting, a ten round mag is max. But for coyote hunting there is no max.
I am pretty sure that the style of rifle has nothing to do with it. The law pertaining to deer hunting states: IllegalA deer hunter shall not use or possess while deer hunting: • Firearms able to hold more than a total of 11 rounds (10 inmagazine and one in chamber) It has nothing to do with the style of gun, only how many rounds the gun or magazine will hold. For varmint hunting there is no such restriction.
you cant hunt anything in kentucky with buckshot.... and there is no restriction on mags when hunting for coyote, 30 round mags for ar-15s are just fine.
