Looking to buy a new climber ,looking for opinions on what others use. Actually does not have to brand new ,but I don't want some Walmart garbage either. If someone has one they want to sell let me know ,I know this should probably be in the classifieds thanks.

How far will you be packing it in? Are you going to leave it at your tree? Do you bow hunt?
Basically, are you looking for comfort and dont mind it being big and heavy or are you looking for as light as possible to pack in and be mobile (comfort be damned)

Summitt viper and Goliath are climbers I use. Can’t go wrong with a Summitt

I have a summit openshot, and a big comfy heavy api. I only use the openshot for quick hunts, public hunting, or when i have to pack it in a long ways. Its not very comfortable so I primarily use the big ol api

I got a Goliath as mentioned above. Don’t use it much but when I have and once it’s up, it’s a great sit. Bought Goliath cause I’m a big fella if you can do smaller then you’ll save a few bucks!

Get the Aluminum. I wish I would have spent the extra money. I have the steel viper, very comfortable but a pain if I have to pack it while carrying my bow and backpack

2nd that on don’t get the steel viper. Had one years ago, comfy but heavy. I’m a big guy so I mainly hunt out of my Goliath because the upper platform is a little wider plus it’s rated for more weight. I’ve spent many many hours and all day sits in one. I’ve been a summitt user for around 30yrs.

Lone wolf for me. I've tried the summits, but like the wolf better.

If you can get through the season, Cabela’s will often have them for sale $50-$80 off late winter/early Spring. Check eBay too!

I’ve got a viper now which I like, but once I get bundled up it gets cramped so I’m probably gonna get a Goliath for late season when I’m bundled up.

When I first started hunting all I used was a climber. Rarely get it out anymore. Need to.
