Saw at the gun store today they had a bag of 100 rem golden bullets in a bag for 20.00 dollars and 10 16 ga shot shells for 10.00 dollars I left them there. I wonder if that's the new way they are going well ammo.
If gunbroker is any indication, we are doomed. I'm seeing 16 gauge shells for $35 a box. I cannot imagine people paying that kind of price for shotgun shells.
Last night picked up 2 boxes of CCI Blazer 9mm (brass) for $14.99/bx. Also a box of Federal blue box 270 for $29, not great but didn't stop my heart. Today found some 00 buck 12ga for about $1.00/round. Cant remember exactly what it was now.
Cabelas has 2 box of Hornady 90g precision .243, sig sauer varmint .243, 3 boxes of 10mm sit sauer jhp, some 25-06, and then some off the wall calibers like 270 wsm, something like a 260 western, 50bmg etc etc. I grabbed a box of federal fusion 243. left the rest for the next guy
I was in the neighborhood of Sportsmen Warehouse in Lexington yesterday and stopped in just to look around. NOTHING on the shelves but some oddball ammo that no one uses. No powder, no primers, no ammo, and very few guns for that store. I think things could worsen as the Demorats get the big Pork Barrel Covid bill passed and begin to focus on Gun Control. But. Nothing is available Now, so how can it get Worse than Nothing?
I stopped at a local Wally mart yesterday which I hardly ever do anymore. Was in there to get something and walked by all ammo shelves were empty not a single box. Lady said it’s all gone as soon as it hits the shelf.
I paid $325 for 200 rdns of M2 Ball 30/06 surplus with ammo can and shipping included from Gunbroker and sad to say, that's a real bargain.
I have been finding 30-06 at Cabela's for about a $1 per round. Hunting loads, but I bought a gas plug from garand gear and it works well and now have nice brass.
Yeah, I bought the Schuster plug for my Garand. Works great but have seen very few hunting loads around here.
