but they are up. Better check your spots.
I cant find a dead tree that had a nice flush last year. Driving me nuts! On a positive note i found some oysters starting the last couple days. By end of the week i should have a good mess, its been a while!
This a big black oak. It produces every year first week of August. Never seen it this early. Wondering if it will have another August flush?
I've been looking but nothing yet.
Been checking all my normal spots, was thinking something was wrong till I realized it was mid June. The ones here have this bad habit of popping up in the biggest sumac patches they can...
In my neck of the woods, we have a early "chicken", around mid June, generally pop out of ground on buried dead oak roots.
Then two types of early fall "chickens", late August/early September, generally grows out of stump or log.
Chanterelles popped last night after the rain. Been so dry I was beginning to think it wasn't gonna happen....
Gathered some last night in Jefferson county, need more rain.
Does anyone know what these are?
