External batteries are far cheaper and last a lot longer. Solar is even better. Herd360 has everything you need.

Most all cameras have a plug on them to piggy back a solar battery pack on.

I place my cameras 10 to 12 foot high. Even if that's true I'd have to strap it down somehow.

If you hate climbing up there constantly to change expensive batteries, I think I’d figure it out.

They last several months so that's not a big deal to me. I just hate that they have gotten so expensive.
Plus I try to hide them as best I can. A solar panel would certainly draw more attention.
I have a camera right now that is still taking pictures and I placed it the first week of November.

I wrote a post of these batteries in inflation thread back in early summer. Wish I had bought a boat load of them before the price skyrocketed. Have a 20 year shelf life. If SHTF these will be as tradeable as gold or silver.
